A collision between a pumper and minivan in Palantine left a the fire truck on its side and sent two people to the hospital Thursday.
The collision happened at the intersection of Quentin and Palantine roads just before 10 a.m.
The pumper came to rest on the officer's side and the minivan sustained extensive damage, according to CBS Chicago.
A firefighter and an occupant of the minivan were taken to the hospital, the Daily Record reported.
Police said the intersection was closed for hours as they conducted an investigation and up righted the fire apparatus.
